Overview of Foundation Activities
The District 126 Foundation for Educational Excellence has formed to provide all our students with the opportunity to develop to their full potential and to enable you as a member of this community to help.
The District 126 Foundation for Educational Excellence:
- Encourages teachers to develop family learning opportunities to meet the special needs of students;
- Provides for educational enrichment activities, allowing students to explore their unique talents and gifts;
- Provides incentives for teachers to find better ways of meeting the needs of a diverse community of learners;
- Works outside the traditional boundaries of publicly funded education;
- Provides resources and opportunities that would not otherwise be available to our students and teachers;
- Provides opportunities for students to learn how to access, retrieve and analyze data through advanced technologies;
- Reaches out to the community to tap its expertise and talents to share with other students;
- Seek volunteer leadership from the community to help make an already excellent school system even better;
- Funds new programs to support teacher initiatives in education; and
- Works with teachers to develop better ways to motivate and teach students.
