Early Childhood

District 126 offers a full continuum of services to meet the needs of children ages 3-5, who are residents of the district. In order for children to qualify for the preschool program, they must either be screened through the district and/or be referred through Early Intervention and qualified through the Special Education process. District 126 preschool program offers Early Childhood classrooms, as well as state funded Preschool For All classrooms with full inclusion services for children with special needs. Our program offers classes five days per week and offers both morning or afternoon sessions at our newly constructed Early Childhood Center. The preschool program aligns all activities with the Illinois Early Learning Standards and our curriculum followed is Creative Curriculum. Monthly parent and child field trips which enhance the learning experiences of the students are also part of our program.
