Social Workers

All of the District 126 schools has a social worker on staff to help address the social and psychological issues that may block students’ academic progress.  Social workers are trained to think of innovative solutions to complex social emotional problems. The district’s social workers may support students individually, in small groups, or support the entire class depending on needs.  Social workers play an integral role in each school’s positive behavioral support committee, the Character Counts Program, executive functioning committee, and social communication implementation.
