Availability of Asbestos Management Plan
As required by federal legislation, the Board of Education must annually notify all parents and employees of the availability for review of the AHERA MANAGEMENT PLAN. The Management Plans are available for public review in the office of the superintendent of schools and the office of each school during normal working hours. The Management Plan was implemented July 9, 1989, as required by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act and updated every three years. We are hazard free!
Prohibition of Tobacco on School Property
In the Alsip, Hazelgreen and Oak Lawn School District 126, the use of tobacco is strictly prohibited. This prohibition shall apply to students, personnel, and members of the public entering onto school property.
The term "tobacco" shall include cigarettes, cigars, and leaf tobacco that are intended to be placed in the mouth without being smoked. There will be no designated areas within District 126 schools or grounds where smoking will be permitted.
Sexual Harassment Policy
The District 126 Student/Staff Sexual Harassment Policy covering both students and employees defines sexual harassment, outlines reporting procedures, and spells out disciplinary steps that staff/students will be subject to including suspension, expulsion or discharge. Provisions of the policy also cover false accusations and retaliation against any person reporting alleged sexual harassment. Copies of this policy are available at each of our schools and the District Office.
