Good afternoon 126 staff and families,
I wanted to send a quick update about the timeline for our school closure. This afternoon the Governor announced the extension of our school closures until at least April 30th.
District 126 school buildings will remain closed until at least May 1st. We will not reopen until we receive guidance from our health officials, Illinois State Board of Education, and the Governor.
Remote learning days are in place and will remain in place during this time. These remote learning days will not need to be made up and will count towards our required number of school days.
While our buildings are closed, school is not closed, they are just relocated. Learning wil continue. I will continue to send out updates from time to time as I receive new information.
I appreciate all that you are doing to support our students and community in this very difficult time.
Please stay safe and stay healthy!
Sincerely,
Craig Gwaltney
Superintendent
