Math Learning Goals

Students receive math instruction designed to build a solid foundation of skills that can be used in real world applications. Our curriculum uses two sets of instructional materials that support the Common Core State Standards.

Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade use Everyday Mathematics CCSS published by the McGraw-Hill. This program features hands-on learning in a spiral presentation. It teaches problem solving algorithms in ways that support mathematics concept development in number sense, geometry, measurement & estimation, algebraic thinking, data analysis & probabilty and computation. Concepts and skills are introduced, re-taught, and expanded upon throughout the curriculum. The weblinks in the next section will help parents as they work with students at home.

Grades 6 through 8 use Connected Mathematics Project 3 (CMP3) published by Pearson. This curriculum was redesigned in 2013 to address the CCSS. Students have a full compliment of technology tools available to access the curriculum from home.  8th Grade Honors taking Algebra using MacDougal-Littel's Algebra Structure and Method Book One.
