Science Olympiad

Like to compete?  Like to do experiments?  Want to learn more about Science?  If so, come and join Science Olympiad!!!

Science Olympiad is a national organization with schools in 47 of the states having teams.   This is a great way for students in 4th-6th grade to become more involved with Science, work in a team, and compete in a friendly environment.  Students will meet once a week with their teams to work on experiments as well as prepare for the final Fun Night competition that will be held on Thursday, May 14th, 2020 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

Students will begin registering before Winter break and we will have our first meeting in January after break.  The group will continue to meet until Fun Night. Groups will meet during lunch and recess on Thursdays.  Please note that all students must be able to attend the final competition which will be held during the evening in May.

Examples of some possible events include: building straw towers on-site, building bridges to hold the most weight, paper helicopters, rockets, can race cars, and many more!!!
