About The School

Welcome to our Hazelgreen School website! Thank you for coming by to learn more about our school.  Thanks to the efforts of the school technology committee, you can expect this site to provide current information regarding the happenings at Hazelgreen School.

Hazelgreen School is a wonderful place to be.  We serve approximately 350 students in grades Pre-kindergarten- 6th in the close knit residential community of Alsip, Illinois.  We have exemplary staff, dedicated and active parents and exceptional students who collectively make Hazelgreen such a great place to be.

As a staff, it is our commitment to implement best-practices for our students. We have created learning environments that promote the philosophy that all children can learn. Staff members, in addition to providing strong academic instruction, promote life skills, good character, and a love of learning that is tied in to a fun and safe educational atmosphere.

Students at Hazelgreen follow the 3Rs Respect, Responsibility, Readiness the core tenets of our Positive Behavior Support-PBS program for District 126.  They are encouraged and expected to demonstrate the 3Rs through their actions everyday.

Communication is the key to success. Working together, we can achieve what is best for children. The presence of volunteers and parents in our building reinforces our strong commitment to education and the home-school connection.

Thank you for your support of our school.  It is with your help that we are able to accomplish great things at Hazelgreen!
