Welcome to our 6th grade classroom site. My name is Christine Czarnecki and this is my 25th year teaching in District 126. I taught 3rd grade for 2 years, 5th grade for 14 years and can't believe how fast time has flown as it is my 9th year in 6th grade. I truly love my job, the way my students influence my life everyday and our fantastic staff. Although my passion is teaching math, I have been enjoying the rich literature we analyze in our StudySync reading curriculum and exploring the wonders of ancient civilizations while teaching world history.
I lead various clubs here at Hazelgreen. You can find me involved with Mentoring, Cooking Club, Talent Show, Service Club and other various activities. I encourage all students to get involved in something they love or something new they want to try!
I went to UIC for both my undergrad and graduate degrees. I did my student teaching experience in Chicago Public Schools and have continued to develop my craft as an educator throught my teaching career. One of my greatest learning experiences has been during my journey through motherhood. My husband Kevin and I have 3 boys who keep us very busy. Being a mother has certainly helped me to be a better teacher; I cherish my time with my own kids as well as yours.
