Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is a nationally recognized organization. It was introduced to students of District 126 in 2007. Teams of 5th and 6th grade students are given a list of titles that is determined by the librarians of Hazelgreen, Lane and Stony Creek Schools. The students on each team are responsible for reading these titles in order to answer comprehension trivia questions. The winning team from each school competes for the District 126 Battle of the Books Championship at the Alsip-Merrionette Park Public Library.
