About The School
Stony Creek Elementary School was built in 1959 and serves students in Kindergarten-6th grade that reside in Alsip and the southern section of Oak Lawn, with approximately 100 staff members serve our diverse student body of 650 students. We are very proud of our long history of providing a comprehensive curricular program that is collaborative, student centered and rigorous. Our 1:1 technology program in grades K-8 provides students with the 21st Century skills they will need to maximize their potential.
Equally as important as our academic programming, are the opportunities embedded for Social-Emotional Learning and extracurricular programming. Stony Creek Elementary uses the PBS (Positive Behavior Systems) approach to Character Education, incorporating the Character Counts Program to producing students who are not only academically sound, but are also good citizens. Numerous extracurricular opportunities are available to our students, ensuring that there is a club, sport or activity that each and every child will be interested in.
