Adrienne O’Neill Math Teacher

My name is Adrienne O’Neill and it is my pleasure to have your child in my Math class this year.  I have been teaching at Prairie Jr. High since 2001, and I am looking forward to another great year. I received my degree in Elementary/Middle school education from Doane College in Crete, NE, in 2001, and I also received a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University in 2005.  In addition to teaching, I am the 7th grade math team coach at Prairie.

We have a GREAT year ahead of us; a year filled with many opportunities for your student to stretch their mind, expand their knowledge of Mathematics, and improve their Mathematics skills.  In order for them to make the most of these opportunities, it is important for them to realize that they play a very important role in their own learning.  Learning is a partnership between student, parent, and teacher.  I’ll do my very best to help students succeed, but the student needs to give their very best in return.

It is my belief that every child has the right to learn in a safe non-threatening environment. In order to ensure that every student has a positive experience in my class, I have provided your child with a list of guidelines and procedures that will create an environment conducive to learning. To encourage responsible choices, please take the time to look over the course guidelines and procedures with your child.  I also want to encourage you and your student to check Seesaw frequently for assignments and updated grades, and to check Google calendar for current and upcoming assignments.

If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please feel free to contact me at aoneill@dist126.org or 708-371-3080 ext.3538
