Hello! I’m Ms. Hasan and this is my eleventh year teaching English language learners here at Prairie Junior High! I feel so lucky to be a Prairie Hawk! I sincerely believe that we have the best students and staff around! Prior to teaching at Prairie, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching of History with a teaching minor in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Many of my students were English language learners. This inspired me to return to the University of Illinois and pursue a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics (T.E.S.O.L), so I could help all students acquire the English language. Before teaching at Prairie, I taught junior high and high school Social Studies and English classes for 3 years at Universal School in Bridgeview and taught  E.S.L. classes for one year at Daley College and a semester at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (U.N.A.M.) branch in Chicago. Aside from teaching, I  am also the International Club sponsor.  When I am away from Prairie, my four wonderful and rambunctious children keep me busy: Tesneem , Zayna , Lena  and Rayan. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading and shopping.
