Welcome to Read 180

Read 180 incorporates the principles of balanced literacy instruction: whole class instruction, small group and individual reading. Technology is used to expand on the reading done as a class. Both programs have student texts that are consumable, allowing students to respond to reading, highlight, or otherwise keep notes to support their reading success. Readings are organized into thematic workshops that combine fiction and nonfiction selections. Students explore topics related to areas such as personal identity and the content areas of science and social studies.

Welcome to System 44

This program is a decoding intervention program called System 44.  This program is divided into 160 Topics of instruction that will provide your child with the foundations to be a good reader.  System 44 teaches students to decode so that they can focus on understanding text. These materials will be engaging for students and will continue to encourage their love of reading.  Students will have online access to many resources to further develop their reading skills, small group rotation and independent time to practice individual skills.
