Dear Parents/Guardians,

The PJH Physical Education program is fitness

based and consists of individual as well as team

sports with the emphasis on sportsmanship,

physical fitness, and lifetime skills. Students are

encouraged to participate in all activities to the

best of their ability. Students at PJH have P.E. 44

minutes each day, 5 days a week.

The PJH fitness room is designed to meet the

needs of the jr. high student’s in their physical

education classes. The emphasis will be on

physical fitness, and lifetime skills. Students will

be able to use the equipment as part of the

curriculum. We will work on improving the

student’s cardiovascular and strength fitness

levels by utilizing various activities. The fitness

room has stationary bikes, elliptical, stair

climbers, treadmills, and over 10 resistance

stations for strength training to develop the

upper and lower body. The equipment is user

friendly, regardless of a students’ initial fitness

level.

The goal is to continue to give students the best

possible program by increasing the students

awareness, knowledge, and participation in

fitness and sports activities. This year we have

incorporated a P.E. handbook that the students

will be required to have with them during their

P.E. class.
